Plant STR / SSR Analysis Service
INQUIRYIntroductions
Short tandem repeats (STR), also known as simple sepeats (SSR) or microsatellite, are widely distributed in the genome of eukaryotes. Generally, it is composed of a core sequence of 2 to 6 bp which is repeatedly arranged in series, and the number of repetitions is mostly between 10 and 60. There is a high degree of variation in the number of repetitive units in SSR, which manifests as euploid variation in the number of microsatellites or the sequence of the repetitive unit sequence may not be exactly the same, resulting in polymorphisms at multiple sites. The polymorphism of different SSRs among different species and even different individuals. SSR markers can reveal these variations well. Because SSR has the advantages of wide and uniform distribution, rich polymorphism, large amount of information, and simple detection, it has been widely used in many fields such as genetic mapping, kinship identification, linkage analysis, gene mapping, genetic breeding and so on.

Analytical method
We use the ABI genetic analyzer to detect the fluorescently labeled DNA fragments, combined with the molecular weight internal standard to calculate the length of the DNA fragments, so that STR typing becomes more efficient and faster, and the results are more accurate.
