Breeding of Lavandula
INQUIRYLavandula is a small perennial evergreen shrub. Lavandula leaves, stems, and flowers are all fragrant, and the flowers have a strong and soft fragrance that is non-irritating and non-toxic. Lavandula has high ornamental value, and the essential oil extracted from its flowers is also widely used in medicine, cosmetics, and aromatherapy.
Lifeasible has many years of research experience in Lavandula breeding research. We aim to use advanced biotechnology for breeding high-quality varieties of Lavandula with flower color, flower type characteristics, and increased resistance, greatly enriching Lavandula variety resources.
Our breeding platform
Lavandula is becoming more and more popular, and breeding it is getting attention. We can use different breeding methods according to the different research purposes to help researchers breed the excellent Lavandula varieties they need.
Currently, Lavandula used in ornamental horticulture is not concentrated on flowering, has low essential oil content, poor plant resistance, and poor ornamental effect, which seriously restricts the sustainable growth of Lavandula tourism economy. The application of transgenic technology is an effective way to breed new Lavandula varieties. We use genetic engineering technology to breed Lavandula for ornamental use, which has significant advantages in flower color, resistance, essential oil content, and compositional composition. In addition, we provide genetic engineering technology with fast and purposeful technical features for Lavandula breeding. This is now widely used in innovative breeding research for Lavandula germplasm.
We have applied polyploid breeding techniques to produce Lavandula polyploid plants with thicker plant pedicels, larger flowers and seeds, low fertility, and increased resistance. Currently, we breed polyploid Lavandula, which improves essential oil production by increasing Lavandula's biological yield.
In addition, we provide research and application of Lavandula tissue culture technology. This provides a more rapid way for the rapid propagation and promotion of new varieties of excellent Lavandula.
