It is commonly used in window sill beautification, urban landscaping, and home decoration. Petunia hybrida is widely grown worldwide and is in increasing demand as a rising star on the flowerbed.
Using advanced breeding techniques, Lifeasible has produced several high-quality Petunia hybrida varieties. Our research into Petunia hybrida breeding has continued to provide effective solutions for Petunia hybrida breeding. Our breeding platform
Petunia hybrida is relatively easy to regenerate; its tissue and cell manipulation techniques are simple. Petunia hybrida has a short life cycle and a clear genetic background, so we use genetic engineering techniques, somatic cell breeding, and haploid breeding techniques, which can be effectively used in breeding research for new Petunia varieties.
By combining traditional breeding techniques with advanced biotechnology, we have made some progress in breeding the Petunia hybrida varieties so far. For example, using tissue breeding and ploidy breeding, we have produced new tetraploid Petunia hybrida germplasm. These germplasms have dwarf-like plants, rich green leaves, growing corollas, increased petal ruffles, and slightly curled margins. In addition, in transgenic Petunia hybrida breeding, we have used Agrobacterium-mediated transfer of target genes into Petunia hybrida, which can modify Petunia hybrida flower color, change plant type, improve flower type, delay senescence, and improve resistance.

- Flower type breeding. We have crossed existing heavy petal varieties with a wider range of varieties to produce heavy petal Petunia hybrida varieties with a wider range of flower colors and different flower sizes.
- Plant breeding. We use advanced breeding techniques to provide effective guidance strategies for breeding varieties with different strains, such as dwarf multi-branched and prostrate growth types.
- To further improve the ornamental characteristics and quality of Petunia hybrida, we have developed several new varieties that are resistant to heat and rain.
