WGBS-seq in Plant
INQUIRYIntroductions
WGBS-seq (Whole Genome Bisulfite Sequencing, referred to as BS or WGBS) uses bisulfite to convert all C bases into U (that is, T in sequencing), and the methylated bases are not changed. Bisulfite processing enables subsequent sequencing and analysis to detect methylated sites with single-base precision at the genome-wide level, and can mine common types of methylated regions such as CpG with high precision. It can also analyze the differential methylation modification of genes in the unit of gene, helping us to more comprehensively explain the occurrence and regulation mechanisms behind biological problems. The application of this technology in the field of agricultural molecular breeding is mainly to study the distribution of DNA methylation, plant DNA methylation and environmental stress response mechanisms and so on.
