Metatranscriptome Sequencing

The macrotranscriptome is a collection of RNA (transcripts) of all microorganisms in a specific period, environmental sample or tissue sample. Through large-scale high-throughput sequencing of these transcripts, the transcriptome information of cultivable and non-cultivable microorganisms in the environment can be directly obtained. This technology not only has all the advantages of metagenomics technology, it can detect active microorganisms, active transcripts and active functions in the environment for research. It is also possible to compare differentially expressed genes and differential functional pathways in different environments, reveal the adaptation mechanism of microorganisms under different environmental pressures, and explore the interaction mechanism between the environment and the microorganisms.

Sample requirements

  • Total RNA≥4μg, concentration≥100ng/μl, and ensure that the RNA is not degraded
  • Total cDNA≥1μg, concentration≥20ng/μl, must be double-stranded cDNA
  • Be sure to mark the sample number on the tube, and use parafilm to seal the mouth of the tube
  • Before shipping, fix all sample tubes in 50ml centrifuge tubes with caps and ship them on dry ice.
