INQUIRYIntroductions
Lilies are well-known cut flower species and are widely used as important garden and potted flowers. With the successful cloning of functional genes for lily flower color and flower shape, molecular breeding technology for lilies has developed rapidly. At present, lily breeding mainly uses modern breeding techniques such as protoplast homozygous and polyploid breeding in combination with traditional breeding to select and breed lily varieties that are resistant to cold, drought, heat, and low light. Improvements in ornamental traits are concentrated on flower color, flower fragrance and type.
Lifeasible is committed to using genetic engineering technology to help our customers produce lily varieties with diverse flower colors, early flowering, strong fragrances, and tall plants resistant to physiological and non-physiological stresses.
What We Follow
With the successful isolation and cloning of more and more lily genes, the establishment of lily genetic regeneration systems, and the progress of exogenous gene transformation technology, we can provide our customers with services for the breeding of high-quality lily varieties. What We Provide
Flower Color Improvement
Based on our research on pigment synthesis and the accumulation of various pigments in the breeding process, we can help our customers regulate the expression of genes related to anthocyanin and carotenoid synthesis in lilies using antisense RNA technology and other techniques.
Flower Fragrance Improvement
The fragrance of lilies originates from the aromatic oils in the perianth pieces. Lilium Asiatica hybrida containing carotenoid species have no fragrance, while most Lilium Oriental hybrids containing anthocyanins have a strong fragrance. Our scientists focus on increasing the fragrance of Asiatic lilies and reducing the fragrance of Oriental lilies to meet the market demand. We try to achieve lily fragrance improvement by constructing transgenic lilies.
Flowering Time Improvement
Our breeding research for lily flowering has focused on breeding early and late-flowering varieties. We can provide selection and breeding services for early and late flowering varieties of lilies based on polyploid induction methods.
Disease Resistance Improvement
Lilies are susceptible to the lily symptomless virus, cucumber mosaic virus. Our scientists have invested a lot of effort in the field of lily disease resistance breeding. We can provide our customers with pathogen detection services and virus gene introduction services for lily healing tissues.
