Introductions

Post translational Modification Proteomics

Protein post-translational modifications (PTMs) refer to the process of chemical modification of proteins during or after translati`on. Post-translational modification of proteins increases the functional diversity of the proteome by adding functional groups such as phosphate, acetate, amide or methyl groups to the protein. PTMs usually include phosphorylation, glycosylation, ubiquitination, nitrosylation, methylation, acetylation, lipidation, proteolysis and others. Post-translational modifications of proteins play a key role in many cellular processes, such as cell differentiation, protein degradation, signal transduction and regulatory processes, gene expression regulation, and protein interactions. It also participates in various physiological and pathological processes, such as regulating cell proliferation, development, differentiation, apoptosis and other life activities. Therefore, it is widely used in stress resistance, autophagy, cell cycle, signal pathways, circadian rhythm, growth and development and other research fields.
